The pizza, hot dog, and hamburger hating Korean boy from 5,422 miles away found another all American idea he actually took to, thanks to a persistent and patient new Dad. Maybe Mr. Badgett had more compassion than most because he had been adopted himself and had also spent time overseas in Asia while his Dad served in the Navy. Culture shock was not something too terribly foreign to him. Perhaps that’s why he had the guts to bring in 10 and 12 year old siblings from Korea.
